Hello friends! I’m Tara.
Just wanted to take a few minutes to introduce myself to those of you that may not know me or are visiting my site for the first time. I am Tara Solomon and am so happy to have you here.
I was born and raised in Tennessee with amazing Christian parents and one older brother. These people have shaped who I am today. For starters, I was in church since the womb. My parents both walked out their faith in their daily lives and modeled the Christian faith in our home through a personal relationship, a gentle and quiet spirit and a hospitable and servant heart. Their faith in God and love for others was never in question.
I have done many things in my life but currently serve in the local church as Children’s Director for all things Kindergarten – 5th grade. It is my joy and passion to come along side families and disciple these young minds. Weekly I get to write and teach them from scriptures the beauty of the Gospel message. What an honor and privilege, it truly is my blessing!
I married a Georgia boy right out of college although, a proud Volunteer I am. He faithfully tried to make me into a GA peach but that hasn’t worked yet. I still say pecan and he says peecan! I eat hushpuppies with ketchup and his whole family eats them with jelly. Say what?!? Oh and I do NOT like wet, soggy … I mean boiled peanuts! Crazy thing is my beloved and his family still put up with me and actually love me so unconditionally it isn’t quite fair. I truly am blessed in this regard.
Bert is a Chiropractor and is gifted by God in his trade and uses his office to love and nurture others in all aspects of their life. He is my gift from God, my partner in crime, my greatest support and a loving refuge and safe place for me to fall. We have gone through a lot but are still committed to our covenant with Christ going on 25 years this September! All glory to God!
We have been blessed with 3 children, Cole, Isaac and Amelia; ranging from 12 – 18 years old. It is kind of hard to type those numbers as just a month ago my youngest hit official teenage status and my oldest will be graduating. Oh how time is flying by! Each of these kiddos are such a blessing in ways I would have never dreamed before becoming a mother. It has always been my biggest dream – a family; being a momma. It wasn’t an easy road but God saw fit to gift us with each one at the perfect time – HIS perfect time. We just try to remember they are really HIS children and on loan to us for just a hot minute. May we be good stewards of this time.
A few RANDOM things…
I love tacos, queso and all things Mexican. I love ice cream. Oh let’s be real…I love FOOD! I love a good meal out and appreciate fine dining as I started my career in food service and catering. I also love to cook at home; especially because it is usually healthier and cheaper.
I love to travel. My farthest and most memorable trip has been to Israel.
Other hobbies besides cooking and traveling; I love to read and spend time with my family and plan or host parties. I mainly read non-fiction but I have loved all things John Grisham and a long standing favorite novel would also be “Redeeming Love” by Francine Rivers.
Lastly, did I mention I am a hot mess. I write this not because I have it all together or anything together for that matter. I write because it has been a dream of mine for YEARS! I enjoy it and for whatever reason it won’t go away. I write for myself and with the hopes it might help, inspire, or encourage ONE person. I strive to be ROOTED in Scripture by reading God’s word daily and yet I am RESTLESS for more! Let’s go on a journey together and dig deep roots in God’s Holy Word. More of HIM and more of who Christ has called each of us to be right where we are, right now, for His glory!
Again, I truly appreciate you stopping by and hope that we can get to know each other and grow together. Please know that your questions, comments and feedback are always welcome, especially if you have ideas on topics you want me to address!
I love you 1,000 elephants!
Tara
